THE THEORY OF CHANGE: Climate Smart Agriculture's Circular Economy for the tribal community women of Andhra Pradesh.

As part of the Hatching Hope Accelerating Income (HHAI) a meaningful shift is facilitated: intertwining the ancient craft of natural dyeing with the empowerment of women. The establishment of a natural dyeing unit has the potential to uplift women’s empowerment in rural communities while at the same time addressing the concerns of synthetic dyes on human and environmental health.

By utilizing locally available plant materials for dyeing, natural dyeing promotes sustainable agriculture and the conservation of native flora, preserving biodiversity and traditional knowledge of medicinal and dye-yielding plants.

On June 25th, a training program on natural dyeing for #yarn and #fabric was held in Addateegala. The primary objective of the program was to equip particularly women with essential skills in natural dyeing and promote sustainable practices within the community. Around 20 women entrepreneurs from various self-help groups #shg and Farmer Producer Groups (FPGs) of Addateegala Mandal Farmer Producer Organization #fpo, attended the training program. The session also saw the participation of extension officers, program coordinators, and members of the management committee.
